Captain Howell

Captain Jason Howell is a certified and insured boat captain and guide. His credentials include a Master Captain's License from the United States Coast Guard, CPR and First Aid Certified, as well as a graduate of the Sweetwater Guide School.

Captain Jason grew up fishing the waters along Rhode Island’s coast on his father's boat which began a life-long passion for fishing. He took the knowledge he gained from those childhood trips and applied them to a first mate position on the 40' sportfishing charter boat, Razin Kane.

Jason's experience with both inshore and offshore fisheries led to the adventure of a lifetime when Samoan Sport Fishing offered him the opportunity to captain the resort's fishing boat. During his time in the South Pacific he targeted pelagic fish, such as Marlin and Tuna.

In 2018, Jason took an opportunity to expand his fishing resume and attended the premier Sweetwater Travel's Fly Fishing Guide School in Montana. There he apprenticed with some of the best guides from around the world, as well as, master fly casting and fly tying instructors. He has taken the fundamental fly fishing knowledge gained and has applied it to his saltwater experience to offer fly fishing charters for both accomplished fly fisherman to beginners.

Jason takes his years of experiences and knowledge and puts his clients on the fish! He prides himself on educating anglers of all ages on the techniques and methods to catching fish.
